Music

Music for younger kids

“Pam Pam” lessons are designed according to the Gordon music-learning theory. The idea is that a young kid or baby learns music like your mother tongue.

In the first years of life, children are particularly receptive to developing their musical talent and express their innate curiosity for music. The lessons give children opportunity to react spontaneously to music, whenever and however it suits each individual.

The aim is not to discover and encourage musical talent, but to offer the children nutritious, tasty, wholesome and live-prepared musical food. Between the songs sung without words, the leader enters into a musical dialogue with each individual child by singing them small melodic and rhythmic motifs. When the child is read, they will respond. These reactions are mirrored by the leader and incorporated into the improvisational sequence. As the group develops, this can lead to a musical conversation.

The stages of musical development described by Gordon include progressive steps in the application of patterns. They are made more difficult on an individual basis, depending on the developmental stage of the individual child.

Parents (mothers, fathers, grandparents) are encouraged to participate, whether in the flowing movements or in singing simple accompanying figures and rhythmic ostinati to the songs. In this way, the children hear polyphonic songs from the very beginning and experience singing as a communal experience.

For older kids

In addition to Pam Pam lessons, we will use Orff-Schulwerk instruments and build up the music experience towards a small orchestra.
